Our Vision
“To help our customers build their business with great tasting, convenient food products and value adding services.”
Our Company
Known as the pioneer that perfected potato dehydration, Basic American Foods is constantly exploring new ways to help make operators’ jobs easier. Its focus on foodservice puts operators’ needs first, and fuels the commitment to finding impactful solutions for their success.
The company subscribes to a set of corporate values that are expressed in two documents, “The Basic Principles” and “What We Stand For.” This is the driving force behind the way the company conducts its business.
The Basic Principles
- Focus on the situation, issue, or behavior, not on the person.
- Maintain the self-confidence and self-esteem of others.
- Maintain constructive relationships.
- Take initiative to make things better.
- Lead by example.
“What We Stand For ...”
Our first commitment is to our Customers,
the restaurant owners and operators, distributors, retail customers, and food companies with whom we do business. We pledge to our customers that we will deliver food products on time and at the lowest total cost by conforming exactly to their requirements. We also pledge to work with our customers to improve our products and to find new ways to meet their needs.
Our second commitment is to our Employees:We will provide a working environment which allows them every opportunity to reach their potential. We believe in equal opportunity for employment, development, and advancement. We will provide compensation which permits individuals to earn rewards commensurate with their contributions. Our employees should feel free to communicate their feelings, make suggestions, and register complaints. While we believe strongly that every individual is important and should be treated that way, we also feel that only by working together as members of a team can we succeed.
Our third commitment is to the Communities where we live
and work:We will support our communities through contributions which have a meaningful impact on the welfare of their citizens. We encourage and will support the involvement of our employees in their communities and political activities. We will maintain in good order the land we are privileged to use, protecting the environment and natural resources.
Our fourth commitment is to our Suppliers:We believe that our suppliers are key partners to our future growth. We seek to foster relationships in which there is an open dialogue, and we are committed to dealing in a fair and ethical manner.
Our final commitment is to our Stakeholders:To provide our stakeholders with a fair return, we must both make a profit and grow. To grow, we must be willing to be innovative in meeting the needs of a changing marketplace, while at the same time protecting what we have already built. To grow, we must be willing to take risks by investing in new products, new facilities, and new businesses. However, we will always conduct ourselves in accordance with our Business Conduct Policy and will never sacrifice our integrity in pursuit of profits.
If we conduct our business according to these principles, our customers will receive quality products at fair prices, our employees will grow and enrich their lives, and our stakeholders will receive a fair return.
